UK Sponsorship Awards 2024 unveil nominations for special one-off award - Best Sponsor of the Last 30 Years

The organisers of the UK Sponsorship Awards (UKSA) are delighted to publish the nominations for a special Award to celebrate the Best UK Sponsor of the last three decades. Created to mark the 30th Anniversary of the industry-leading event, the Award will go to the sponsor deemed by voters to have had the most transformative effect on the industry through its creativity, innovation and investment.

The long list of 15 nominated companies, which is now open to be voted on, consists of: Barclays, Cadbury, Coca-Cola, Emirates, Evian, Guinness, Lloyds Bank, McDonald’s, NatWest, O2, Red Bull, Samsung, Santander, Visa, Volvo.

Unveiling the shortlisted companies, UKSA organiser Rosemary Sarginson said: “The last 30 years have seen the UK sponsorship sector change beyond all recognition. New technologies, new agencies, new business practices and, most of all, new brands have all contributed to the dynamic and forward-facing industry we now work in. This long list of 15 have all, in their own ways, helped make the industry what it is today.”

The judges’ role in this Award is now finished. From here on in, it is down to the public to decide which sponsorship they want to win.

To vote, email the name of the company in the subject line to info@sponsorship-awards.co.uk by Monday 4th March when we will announce the six companies which have generated the most amount of votes. Those brands will be named as Finalists and the overall Winner will be revealed at the UK Sponsorship Awards Gala Dinner, held at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on March 26th 2024.

“Creativity, innovation, community, DEI, media impact, brand transformation – there are so many factors that define a truly great sponsor,” said Sarginson. “I’m sure the winner of this Award will remind us how far UK sponsorship has come over the last 30 years.”
