The countdown is on to the UK Sponsorship Awards 2027 Early Bird deadline, with brands, agencies, rights holders and charities encouraged to put their best work forward before discounted entry fees expire on December 18.
Now in its 33rd year, UKSA is preparing to celebrate another year of outstanding sponsorship activity across sport, arts, entertainment, media, social purpose and other key sectors. The 2027 programme includes new opportunities for entrants, notably a dedicated Brand Fandom category and a special spotlight on sponsorship surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Organisations entering before December 18 can take advantage of a significantly discounted rate of £280 + VAT per entry, compared with the standard fee of £350 + VAT. Not-for-profit organisations can enter for £150 + VAT during the Early Bird period, rising to £230 + VAT thereafter.
Meanwhile, the Arts & Cultural Sponsorship category remains completely free to enter until December 18, giving cultural organisations and their commercial partners an opportunity to showcase their achievements without an entry fee.
The 2027 Awards will culminate in a gala celebration at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on March 23, 2027.
New opportunities for 2027
All of UKSA’s established categories return for 2027, covering sport, women’s sport, arts, media, entertainment, social purpose, sustainability, diversity, digital activation, branded content, gaming, esports and talent.
Among this year’s developments is a renewed emphasis on the contribution sponsorship makes to brand growth.
The long-established Brand Sponsorship category has been renamed Brand Impact Through Sponsorship, with judges seeking compelling evidence of how partnerships have contributed to commercial and marketing objectives, including sales, brand image, consideration and customer engagement.
Alongside it is a new category, Best Brand Fandom Through Sponsorship, recognising partnerships that have built communities of enthusiastic and committed supporters. The award will celebrate sponsorships that generate affinity, participation and advocacy rather than simply delivering exposure.
Football will also be a major focus following the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the US. The Football Sponsorship category continues to recognise partnerships throughout the sport, but UKSA is also planning a dedicated award for outstanding sponsorship around the men’s World Cup.
Women’s Sports Sponsorship remains another important part of the programme, reflecting the growth and diversification of brand investment in women’s sport.
Recognition across the sponsorship industry
UKSA is also keen to encourage entries from the consultancies, agencies and rights holders that play a central role in developing and delivering successful partnerships. The Awards include opportunities for sponsorship agencies of different sizes to demonstrate their achievements, alongside recognition for rights holders that have created innovative and commercially successful partnerships.
The Agency Wellbeing Award will also recognise organisations that demonstrate a commitment to creating a positive and productive working environment.
Elsewhere, categories including First Time Sponsor and Best Use of a Smaller Activation Budget provide opportunities for newer entrants and organisations whose achievements may not depend on large-scale expenditure.
Social purpose, disability inclusion, sustainability and community engagement will also feature prominently, reflecting the different ways sponsorship can deliver benefits beyond conventional marketing objectives.
UKSA CEO Rosie Sarginson said:
“With the Early Bird deadline approaching, we’d encourage organisations to start thinking about the partnerships and campaigns they want to put forward. Every year we see outstanding work from established sponsors and agencies, but we also want to hear from smaller businesses, first-time sponsors, charities and rights holders whose achievements deserve wider recognition.
“We’ve introduced some interesting developments for 2027, particularly around brand impact and fandom, while retaining the categories that have proved so popular over the years. There’s a tremendous variety of work taking place across the industry, and we want the Awards to reflect that.
“The Early Bird discount makes this a good time to enter, and we’re particularly keen to remind arts organisations that their category is free until December 18.”
Celebrating the people behind sponsorship
In addition to campaign and company awards, UKSA will once again recognise individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the industry.
The UKSA Champions of Sponsorship will celebrate influential figures whose work has helped shape the sector, while the Barrie Gill Award for Most Promising Young Sponsorship Executive will recognise emerging talent.
Both are free to enter, with nominations closing on February 10, 2027.
Don’t miss the Early Bird deadline
The deadline for discounted entries is December 18, 2026, with the final entry deadline falling on January 15, 2027.
Judging will take place on February 11, ahead of the Awards celebration at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on March 23.
