PARTNERS
The British Cycling Foundation and Parkinson's UK have partnered with the aim to break down barriers to cycling for those living with Parkinson’s through a pilot programme of activity.
Parkinson’s UK will become the British Cycling Foundation’s first funding partner, helping to provide training to coaches and volunteers, improving understanding of how cycling can benefit people with Parkinson’s and raise awareness of the condition to thousands.
Research suggests being active for 2.5 hours a week can help manage Parkinson’s symptoms, improve mobility, balance and strength, while also supporting mental wellbeing and confidence.
The partnership will allow the Foundation to co-create training modules shaped by lived experience, giving coaches and volunteers the knowledge and confidence to deliver inclusive cycling sessions tailored for people with Parkinson’s.
